There are many water crises in the world in different places in different ways. One of them is the ocean. Oil spills are the main problem.
The problem with oil spills is that they kill fish. The oil damages their habitat and their bodies and they die. Equipment breaking down on ships may cause oil spills. Natural disasters like hurricanes may cause oil spills, too. Birds die from oil spills if their feathers are covered in oil. The birds will get poisoned by trying to clean themselves. Animals die because they get hypothermia causing their body temperatures to lower. Oil may also cause the death of animals by entering the animal’s lungs or liver. Oil also can kill an animal by blinding it. It is estimated that approximately 706 million gallons of waste oil enter the ocean every year.
Oil spills can’t go on forever. We must find the solution for these massive oil spills. First problem is the oil is leaking from the ships while it is loading oil from one place to another. The solution for this problem is to stop loading oil in ships where they can load the oil by land through strong pipes. Another problem is oily storm water drainages from cities and farms and it is contaminating the ocean. The solution for this problem is that the government should build one place through cities and farms so that it can clean the water before sending it to the ocean.
If we find solutions for every problem of oil spills, then there would be no more oil in the ocean. People need to stop polluting the water with oil and the ocean’s habitat will be clean.
